Inklusions-Kompass is a website that helps teachers teach children with disabilities. This is done in two parts. The first is a forum and the second is a document analysis.
Research
Knowing that we wanted to do a project on inclusivity in schools, we started by conducting several interviews with teachers. We discovered that it's often difficult for teachers to find information and materials for students with disabilities, as there is no 'one size fits all' solution. So we decided to create a website to help teachers teach better.
To find out how best to achieve our goal, we established personas, user needs and ‘how might we’ questions. We also consulted teachers to make sure our concept was a good idea. Through various iterations and testings, we arrived at our final result.
Concept
In the forum, teachers can search for questions to learn about different disabilities. If you have specific questions, you can use filters (disability tags, grade, school type) and keywords. If your search is unsuccessful, you can also ask a question. The home page will also display current questions that you may be able to answer. This is determined by the answers you gave when you registered
The most important element of the documents is the analysis. This is where worksheets can be checked for contrast, easy read and readability. The document can then be uploaded to a server for other teachers to use or downloaded as a PDF. You can also search for uploaded worksheets. The grades and school types you specified when you registered will be selected immediately. If you move your mouse over a document, you can see how good the contrast, easy read and readability are.
