What is IOTA?
The cryptocurrency IOTA uses Tangle technology. Contrary to conventional cryptocurrencies that use blockchain, Tangle technology creates a network of connections. Because of its many connections, it is considered as more secure and has better future prospects and uses.
Research
For the research, we started by learning about cryptocurrencies in general. After that, we focused on IOTA and did a lot of in-depth research on the Tangle technology. We also looked at current and future application contexts.
Concept and Exhibit
To make the Tangle technology accessible, we decided to start our exhibit with a linear intro explaining the technology. Afterwards, users can decide for themselves which application areas they want to explore further.
The exhibit consists of a table with an integrated touch screen. Next to the screen are several objects that can be used to select an application area. The user takes an object and places it on the screen, which then plays the corresponding example.
